Vendors I Love - Hannah's Weddings & Events

As a wedding photographer, I photograph a lot of vendors work from wedding dresses, to rustic DJ booths and I love to get to know the vendors I love and recommend them to my couples!

This blog is the start of many, giving you advice on which suppliers I truly recommend. This week, Hannah from Hannah's Weddings & Events has given me some amazing tips and advice on why it is best to hire an Event Planner for your wedding. Lets's take a read:

"Hi, I'm Hannah and here is a little Q&A about myself & my business!"

Q:How long have you had your wedding event planner business?

A:Since February 2019 so I am still a very new business within the wedding industry but so far things seem to be going very well, I hope It continues!

Q:What do you enjoy most about your job?

A:Making my clients happy! I just love being able to support and help my clients plan and create their dream weddings to fit their budgets, themes and ideas! Seeing it all come together on the big day gives me great job satisfaction.

Q:Is wedding planning your full time job?

A:Yes, I have just started 4 weeks ago full time at my business whereas before I was a dental nurse, but trying to run and expand my business I needed to dedicate more time to it! It’s hard work and unsociable hours but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My business is my baby.

Q:What made you want to be a wedding planner?

A:I have always been a very organised and a forward thinking person, throughout school and with friends and family I have always been ‘the planner’. Wedding planning has always been my ‘dream job’ and its only now I’ve finally taken the plunge and made it happen!

Q:How many wedding couples do you take on in a year?

A:It’s hard to say as it all depends on the enquiry type and if I’m available on the day they would like me for!

Q:How many full-scale weddings have you planned? When was your last one?

A:As wedding planning is probably the best part of 2 years working with someone, and I only started back in February I am very much in the middle of helping my clients with planning, but I would say right now I have probably 8 or so on my books that I am helping with either full or partial planning with weddings over the next 3 years.

Q:Can you meet your clients in person or video call before booking?

A:Of course, I always say a face to face meeting is best before any booking as I want my clients to meet with me and get to know me as a person before putting their trust into me to help plan and execute their wedding day. However working with some couples wanting to get married down in the Southwest from upcountry this is sometimes harder, but I always welcome Skype or Facetime calls so we can still ‘meet’ and chat before bookings.

Q:What is your typical wedding style?

A:This question excites me! My typical styles are wedding themes such as rustic, bright and bold botanical weddings, I also love very vintage and country feel wedding styles or glamorous themes, I love sparkle!

Q:What are the different packages you offer?

A:I offer full and partial planning, on the day coordination with ‘week of’ wedding help and admin. I also offer props for hire as well as doing ‘wedding doggy day care’.

Q:What kind of planning do you offer? Logistical only (i.e. organisational—handling things like the timeline and floor plan) or Design and Logistical (i.e. bringing a client's vision to life as well as taking care of all the organisational aspects of the wedding)?

A:The whole shebang! I am with my clients every step of the journey from assessing which venues would most suit them, their wants, wishes, budget and preferences. Right the way through to the end providing set up help and on the day coordination to make sure that everything we have worked on as a team goes according to plan!

Q:Will you provide us with a timeline of the wedding and a floor plan of the wedding venue? A:Yes, I love creating wedding timelines! It's something for myself and other suppliers on the day to work from and stick too! Floor plans? I always recommend going to view the venue at least once even for coordination to visually see how my clients want their day to go and the who, what & where’s!

Q:Do you offer different package options or is everything customised based on what we're looking for?

A:I can be as bespoke as needs be, I have set packages but If a client only wanted venue hunting help, or only wanted certain aspects of planning or coordination I am more than happy to work something out with them! I am all about being that helping hand.

Q:In case of an emergency that prevents you from being at our wedding, who will be the backup planner?

A:I do have a few wedding planner friends that I can rely on in my absence, (which I hope this would never happen!) But I would say, working closely with Daniella Winchester-Leigh for the last 4 months in preparation for our new, unique and quirky Southwest wedding fair I know I could and would trust Daniella to take over and manage the wedding for me!

Tell us some helpful tips!

  • Be as organised as possible! And if you don’t enjoy the organisational side of things, get some help 😊

  • Comfy heels ladies are a must! It’s a long day, you don’t want achy feet!

  • Invest in a great photographer. The wedding photos are with you for the rest of your lives, don’t regret not seeking a professional photographer even if it is more money, it’ll be worth it!
